True to our word to keep our products as local as possible, you will be happy to know that Rebecca Ottensman, from the Shed Bakery, is bringing her baked goodies to Real Food Co-op. They, of course, include cookies and scones, muffins, rolls and varieties of bread and baguettes. Yummm!
Also our local produce suppliers are bringing us their kale, lettuce and spinach. I hope you will all support them. They are working hard for us, to perfect sustainable farming in this area and increase our supply 0f nutritious,fresh, and organic food.

Our first year at the new location and we are growing! New products this month include:
-Raw Granola from Mama Chelsea
-Goji Bars (4 varieties, gluten free) from solstice Bakery. Goji berries are high in anti-oxidants, and anti-aging properties.
-Rice Hippie Treats (3 varieties, gluten free) from Solstice Bakery.
-Organic Fair Trade cotton towels and wash cloths from Turkey
-Feta cheese from Organic Valley
-Organic Asparagus. Yum! It is sooo good for you.
-Organic vegetable starts
-Local greens
Jen is very open to suggestions for new products. So be sure to tell her your needs.

The co-op is now carrying All Natural Local Pork, grown right here in Florence OR. The pork is grass fed and has received NO hormones or antibiotics. The cured pork is nitrate and MSG free. At present there are bulk sausage, steaks, chops and ribs in the freezer. Soon the bacon and ham will be done and will also be available in the freezer. If you would like to visit the farm, call Toria at 541-999-1675 for an appointment
We now have NORI and KOMBU Seaweed available, located on the lower shelf in the herb and spice section.
You will find coconut dates roles in the refrigerator at the back of the store.
Oh Yum… We are carrying Manna Bread which is made with sprouted grains and is yeast free.
The Rogue Creamery Smokey Blue and Cheddar cheese are back.

The Co-Op has started carrying Naturally Nested Organic Eggs as well as the Naturally Nested Eggs and local farm fresh eggs (when available). They are in the cooler at the back of the store.

You will find canola oil and toasted sesame oil in bulk.
Bread & Roses bakery makes artisan breads in Yachats which are available at the Co-Op. The mostly organic bread is made by hand, using Bear Mountian Honey, in small batches of 8 loaves only and is delivered fresh on Mondays! They offer whole wheat sourdough, white sourdough, rye with orange sourdough and morning glory muffins. Seeded baggettes and eip breads are best eaten fresh so be sure to special order them to pick up on Mondays. The seeded baggette is $4.05 for members and $4.55 for non-members. Epi bread is $3.75 for members and $4.25 for non-members. Check it out the next time you shop.

The co-op is offering Island Wild Seafood. The fish is caught in Hawaii by by an Oregon based company and is flash frozen on the boat at the time it is caught. This company fishes with conscientious practices. Available are Sword fish, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo (Ono), Sushi Grade Ahi, Smoked Marlin and Smoked Ahi. Check the freezer section at the back of the store. Some items will be found in the refrigerator at the back of the store.

(Please check out the Special Order page under the category “About Co-op” on this site’s menu bar). Jen will give you the weekly schedule when you place your order. The Co-op offers lower prices and lower up-charges (15%) on special-order bulk items to its share holders. At this time one time/lifetime shares can be purchased for $50.00 per family. You may pay this in two six month increments. You can pick up a form at the store any day of the week except Sunday.
Beginning 2010, a yearly fee of $25.00 will be charged, and dedicated to operating costs. Jen Nelson would like member/owners to pay this fee in January. There will be a 10% deduction in your grocery bill on the day you pay this fee. Thank you!
